SOS Dječje selo Hrvatska: Atención familiar para todos los niños
SOS Dječje selo Hrvatska es una organización sin fines de lucro que brinda cuidado familiar a niños que han perdido o están en riesgo de perder el cuidado de sus padres. La organización cree que ningún niño debe crecer solo y que todos los niños merecen vivir en un entorno familiar estable y afectuoso. SOS Dječje selo Hrvatska logra esto proporcionando una madre SOS, una casa SOS, hermanos y hermanas SOS y una aldea SOS para cada niño.
El concepto de Aldeas Infantiles SOS fue introducido por primera vez por Hermann Gmeiner en Austria en 1949. Creía que todos los niños tienen derecho a crecer en un hogar amoroso con sus propios hermanos, independientemente de sus antecedentes o circunstancias. Hoy, hay más de 570 Aldeas Infantiles operando en más de 130 países en todo el mundo.
En Croacia, SOS Dječje selo Hrvatska brinda atención familiar desde 1992. La organización actualmente opera seis Aldeas Infantiles en todo el país: Ladimirevci cerca de Osijek, Lekenik cerca de Sisak, Kutina cerca de Zagreb, Bjelovar cerca de Daruvar, Lovinac cerca de Gospić y Dubrovnik.
Cada Aldea Infantil consta de varias casas donde los niños viven con su madre SOS y sus hermanos. Las casas están diseñadas para estar lo más cerca posible de una casa familiar típica para que los niños puedan experimentar una sensación de normalidad y estabilidad.
