Hicimos el viaje en canoa Mendenhall para conocer de cerca el glaciar. Fue un gran viaje y David, nuestro guía turístico, fue increíblemente informado y divertido. Nos llevó hasta Nugget Falls y también estaba muy consciente de los límites de una canoa llena de remeros novatos. David hizo que este viaje fuera muy especial para nosotros. ¡¡¡Gracias!!!

Trabajé para Alaska Travel Adventures durante unos meses el verano pasado. La gente era lo suficientemente amable, aunque todo estaba muy desorganizado. Se suponía que debía ser un conductor de autobús / camioneta, pero en cambio me pusieron a trabajar como recepcionista en la oficina durante un mes entero hasta que terminé yendo a casa. Apenas me preguntaron si estaba de acuerdo con eso, solo insistieron en que sería bueno en el trabajo y que en cambio me necesitaban allí. No me gustó nada, todo estaba demasiado ocupado para nosotros dos. Muy desorganizado, me metí en problemas por cosas que no hacía, agitado todo el tiempo. Me inscribí en una vivienda para empleados, estábamos atrapados 6 en un apartamento, 2 en una habitación, incluso las habitaciones muy pequeñas, solo un baño en el que el inodoro se rompió varias veces y permaneció roto durante varias horas. Nadie me había advertido que sería así en absoluto. No lo recomendaría para personas a las que les gusta el trabajo organizado y predecible. Siento que soy bastante flexible, pero incluso a mí me desconcertó lo desorganizado y la falta de respeto hacia algunos de los empleados.

Pasé un tiempo excelente con el capitán Jay y Sara hoy y vi algunas ballenas hermosas. Sara mantuvo a todos entretenidos con su conocimiento del área y la vida silvestre. Su barco es nuevo, rápido y genial, aunque eso es algo en lo que probablemente solo los chicos estén interesados. En cualquier caso, esta fue una forma perversa de comenzar nuestra aventura en Alaska y ¡todos deberían ver a estos chicos! También debemos agradecer a Stirling y Mary por llevarnos de un lugar a otro y señalar todas las águilas calvas y cosas divertidas en Juneau.
