Nuestra historia
United Way—Thomas Jefferson Area fue fundada en 1943 como el War Chest de Charlottesville-Albemarle. Desde entonces, hemos evolucionado hasta convertirnos en una organización sin fines de lucro líder que presta servicios a las comunidades de Virginia Central. Nuestra área de servicio incluye el condado de Albemarle, la ciudad de Charlottesville, el condado de Fluvanna, el condado de Greene, el condado de Louisa y el condado de Nelson.
Nuestro enfoque

Nuestro impacto

- Invertimos más de $1 millón en organizaciones locales sin fines de lucro a través de nuestro Community Impact Fund.
- Brindamos más de 2 millones de comidas a través de asociaciones con bancos de alimentos locales.
- Ayudamos a más de 1,000 familias a acceder a viviendas asequibles.
- Conectamos a más de 4 mil voluntarios con oportunidades para retribuir.
Pero todavía queda mucho trabajo por hacer. Las tasas de pobreza siguen siendo altas en muchas partes de nuestra región; el acceso a los servicios de salud y salud mental es limitado para muchos residentes; y las oportunidades educativas no siempre son iguales.
