Escuela única para niños con TDAH y desafíos de aprendizaje

El miedo, la confusión y la ira que vinieron con el diagnóstico de discapacidad de aprendizaje de nuestro hijo hace 11 años se ha convertido en aceptación, orgullo y alegría. Inscribimos a nuestro hijo en The Hillside School en segundo grado. Estuvo allí durante tres años y luego se reinscribió en séptimo grado para ayudar a poner a prueba el programa de la escuela secundaria. Las estrategias que le enseñaron en lectura y escritura junto con habilidades en metacognición y autodefensa lo han apoyado con éxito durante la escuela secundaria y se graduará en junio. Recientemente, nuestro distrito escolar local lo reevaluó en preparación para la admisión a la universidad. Si bien siempre tendrá una diferencia de aprendizaje, no ha necesitado instrucción especialmente diseñada y, por lo tanto, un IEP.
