El domingo 21 de junio de 2015, el Departamento de Bomberos de Nags Head brindó un servicio excepcional a nuestros inquilinos, vecinos y nosotros. Su rápida acción fue especialmente importante para nosotros, ya que vivimos en Baltimore en el verano y alquilamos nuestra casa en South Nags Head. Los bomberos respondieron rápidamente a la llamada de un vecino que involucraba olor a gas afuera de nuestra casa. El tanque de propano tenía una fuga, dejando un residuo y un posible material inflamable. Gracias a las rápidas acciones de los bomberos que lavaron el área circundante al tanque y trabajaron con el proveedor de propano, se evitó una situación potencialmente peligrosa. Estamos muy agradecidos con el Departamento de Bomberos de Nags Head y nos consideramos los más afortunados de vivir dentro de su jurisdicción. ¡Gracias de nuevo!

Durante nuestras vacaciones familiares en diciembre, nos alojamos en Kill Devil Hills en una hermosa casa. Como a mi hijo le encanta el windsurf, trajo su tabla y traje de neopreno para practicar windsurf en el sonido. Las condiciones parecían bastante buenas ya que salió durante el día de Nochebuena para montar el viento. Luego se metió en problemas en medio del sonido y comenzó a ser arrastrado más lejos, alejándose de la orilla y empujado hacia el puente (a Manteo). Fría, exhausta y lidiando con una vela que no cooperaba, la situación se deterioró rápidamente. Se perdió de vista desde la orilla y llamamos a bomberos y rescate tan pronto como nos dimos cuenta de que esto era grave. Muy rápidamente, Nags Head Fire & Rescue estuvo en el lugar evaluando la escena, encontrando la ubicación de mi hijo y luego enviando una moto de agua para llevarlo. ¡Gracias a Dios por los trabajadores de Nags Head Fire & Rescue! Se evitó lo que podría haber sido una historia tan trágica, y todos volvieron a casa sanos y salvos y disfrutando de una cena de Nochebuena con la familia. Siempre recordaré y estaré agradecido con la tripulación por su trabajo en equipo y eficiencia, además de toda la amabilidad, empatía y paciencia hacia toda la familia preocupada. Gracias de nuevo a estas personas valientes y serviciales que detuvieron todo lo que estaban haciendo en Nochebuena para ayudar a alguien necesitado.

Tuvimos un problema menor con la parrilla en nuestra casa de alquiler esta noche y los chicos que vinieron a ayudar fueron fenomenales para arreglar todo. ¡¡¡Gracias de nuevo!!!
