G4S es una fusión de 2 de las mayores empresas de seguridad del Reino Unido, Group 4 y Securicor. 5 años después de la fusión, la nueva empresa llamada G4S comenzó a desmoronarse y comenzó a fracasar como empresa líder en seguridad.
Contratista autorizado y aprobado por Sia con acreditaciones de asociaciones de seguridad, pero la empresa llamada G4S se convirtió en el hazmerreír nacional por su manejo negativo de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres en 2012.
Para cualquier empresa de seguridad encargada de la contratación de 10.000 miembros del personal de seguridad no es una hazaña pequeña y, aunque G4S no logró proporcionar esta cantidad, habían logrado encontrar 6.500, lo que en sí mismo es un logro que nadie ha logrado antes; el gobierno se vio obligado a reclutar en dos semanas antes del inicio de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 3.500 militares del Reino Unido.
La mala gestión a través de la microgestión llevó a su mayor vergüenza con los Juegos Olímpicos y fue convocado para comparecer en el Comité Selecto de los Comunes y una fuerte multa de millones.

Parte del problema de G4S es la licencia Sia, que se prueba en el escritorio de cada persona que desea trabajar en seguridad y, una vez que tiene licencia, se considera un oficial de seguridad profesional; La concesión de licencias de Sia hace hincapié en tener una licencia y no estar capacitado, ya que si no lo tiene, comete un delito; esto es algo que la SIA necesita mejorar.
La seguridad básica ahora tiene una licencia, pero el sentido común y la capacitación en seguridad se han convertido en algo secundario.
Habiendo experimentado las múltiples facetas de esta empresa, no creo que G4S sea propicio para la seguridad profesional en el Reino Unido;
y su estado de Licencia SIA y Contratista Aprobado debe ser revocado.
