Necesitan instalar CCTV de alta definición en todos los tranvías y en la mayoría de las paradas, ya que los conductores de tranvías pueden ser muy abusivos. Ya ha estado sucediendo. Los pasajeros son asaltados y se les niega la salida y la entrada al tranvía por la puerta del tranvía controlada por el conductor del tranvía, especialmente en los tranvías más antiguos. Los conductores no se disculpan ni ayudan a los pasajeros al volver a abrir la puerta, y los pasajeros se ven obligados a salir si están atrapados entre la puerta y la pared. Actualmente no hay compensación por lesiones de este tipo por parte de Yarra Trams. La única compensación es si el tranvía llega tarde. La compensación es la tarifa, pero si el incidente ocurrió durante la zona franca, no hay compensación alguna.

La mayoría de los conductores son irrespetuosos y no se preocupan por su propio trabajo ni por los pasajeros. Gritaban a los pasajeros que se paraban frente a la puerta, pero no ayudaban a los pasajeros que preguntaban y decían "No lo sé". Incluso hubo un conductor que respondió con una respuesta "inteligente" a una pregunta. Sentirse arrogante de que de todos modos no se pudieron reunir pruebas.
