Llené una solicitud de cuidado de relevo ya que mi madre de 87 años seguía teniendo problemas médicos y yo vivía a 30 millas de distancia, tratando de administrar 2 hogares y trabajar a una hora de distancia. Mi madre vivía en el condado de Lexington y yo vivo en Aiken. Como no vivía en el condado de Lexington, me dijeron que no podían ayudarme. Me dijeron que me pusiera en contacto con el Consejo de Savannah inferior y llenara una solicitud de respiro, lo cual hice. Me dijeron que como mi mamá no vivía en el condado de Aiken, no podían ayudarme. ¿¿Qué?? Entonces, ¿adivinen qué pasó entonces ??? NO RECIBÍ AYUDA !!! Les dicen a los cuidadores que pidan ayuda, pero cuando lo hace, nadie ayuda. Me enferma saber que se supone que DEBEN ayudar, pero se negaron ...

Central Midlands Council ha sido una fuente de gran apoyo durante la enfermedad de mi esposo. Su Beca para Cuidadores nos ha brindado servicios de relevo para que pudiera hacer una pausa muy necesaria para cuidar a mi amado. Su subvención de suministros llegó justo cuando el costo de los suministros de papel estaba poniendo nuestras finanzas en un aprieto. Gracias Midlands por tu ayuda.
