Recuerdo estar sentado en el auto leyendo estas críticas negativas sobre el Centro de Soluciones Comunitarias justo antes de mi primer día de terapia. Un poco preocupado, entré de todos modos y fue sin duda LO MEJOR que he hecho por mí y mis seres queridos.
Llevaba 2 años en California en ese momento. Dejé Oregon después de que mi ex finalmente fuera condenado por DV. Me golpeó repetidamente hasta dejarme inconsciente, me estranguló y me torturó psicológicamente. Pensé que todo había terminado después de que me fui, pero mis recuerdos me perturbaron profundamente. El trauma se almacena en el cuerpo y yo arremetía con saña contra la gente o me ponía a llorar por algo simple. Ahora estaba lastimando a la gente. No pude controlar mis emociones. Tuve mucho dolor. Se estaba apoderando de mi vida y no sabía cómo mejorar.
Incluso lastimé a mi pareja actual que me trata como una reina porque no podía manejar el estrés sin explotar. Finalmente me comuniqué con la línea directa de violencia doméstica y me remitieron a CFCS.
Y eso me llevó a Heather, mi terapeuta durante los últimos 6 meses que me ayudó a cambiar mi vida por completo. Cuando llegué a ella, me odié mucho a mí mismo.
Tengo experiencia en servicios humanos y soy muy crítico con aquellos en la profesión de ayuda. Puedo decir si están escuchando. Había probado con otro terapeuta y tuve un ataque de pánico después del primer día porque sus contribuciones no eran relevantes y me quedé sintiéndome expuesta a alguien que no me entendía.
Heather tiene una forma de tomar todos mis pensamientos oscuros y desordenados y de alguna manera sintetiza una respuesta que es tan útil ... como ¿¡cómo !? A veces solo necesitas sacarte ese asco de la cabeza. En 6 meses de trabajar con Heather I; aprendí conceptos para manejar mi mente, como cuando me avergoncé en espiral, exploré mi trauma en un espacio seguro finalmente sin sentirme juzgado, establecí límites a la bebida que realmente funcionaron, tomé mi último curso para graduarme de la universidad, obtuve un entrenador personal, obtuve un nuevo trabajo en mi campo deseado y, en general, soy una persona diferente. Me he calmado mucho. Se necesita verdadera habilidad para tomar un alma atormentada y llevarla al alivio, y eso es exactamente lo que hizo Heather.
Los servicios de salud mental accesibles y de CALIDAD gratuitos para los sobrevivientes son imperativos y estoy muy agradecido con Heather y el Centro de soluciones comunitarias. Hoy es mi última sesión y estoy triste porque me encanta venir aquí, pero sé que tengo que hacer espacio para las personas que lo necesitan como yo.
