Mark Barnes founded VirMedica in 2013 with a mission to break down the commercial barriers that oftentimes impede patient access to specialty products. To accomplish this goal, he knew that today’s service HUB would have to be transformed using the industry’s best technology to automate and simplify provider and patient workflows. VirMedica’s first acquisition was BioMed Intelligence (BMI) – an integrated single application technology platform to power traditional patient access functions for specialty products. VirMedica subsequently completed a significant capital raise that led to the acquisition of TransEngen (TE) – the nation’s premier provider of automated, real-time benefits verification service and to a capital investment into D2 Pharma Consulting (D2) – a leading consulting company with expertise in managed care, commercialization/distribution and business development capabilities.
